The Flaming Foliage Relay is a team running relay race from Idaho Springs to Buena Vista that is historically held the first Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. Team categories are 10-person and 5-person Ultra teams. The course is divided into 30 legs; at the end of each leg is a runner exchange. Teams are self-supporting and their team vehicle leap frogs the active runner, meeting them at the next runner exchange.
